Phil Harnick

Philip Duncan Harnick, 51, of Folsom, Calif., passed away Sunday, March 1, 2015. He was born Feb. 13, 1964, in New York City, and was a 1982 graduate of Hampton High School, Allison Park. A 1986 graduate of Kent State University, he studied finance and played varsity ice hockey. After college, Phil followed his love of cooking and worked most of his career for Marriott as an executive chef and food and beverage director. While working in San Francisco, Phil met and married the love of his life, Janet Tolleson. Together Janet and Phil had two sons, Cole and Ty. Phil spent the last 10 years of his life in his own kitchen as the ultimate stay-at-home dad, raising his two sons, playing hockey, cycling, brewing craft beers and making award-winning wine. Phil was a very creative and passionate individual. He touched many lives and enjoyed many friendships. Phil is survived by his wife, Janet; his sons, Cole and Ty; parents, Yvonne and Jack Harnick; sister, Susan Torrey; brother, Jack Harnick; sisters-in-law, Nell Harnick, Nancy McCarthy and Maryann Hewitt; brothers-in-law, Richard Torrey, Conor McCarthy and Mike Hewitt; nieces, Heather Torrey, Natalie Hewitt and Emily Hewitt; and nephews, Drew Torrey, Jack Harnick, Will Harnick and Andrew Hewitt. I just found out that Phil passed away and can't believe it.  He was a great guy and I have so many great memories hanging out with him in high school. It is a shame we all drift apart after high school but I will keep him and his family in my prayers.
